Dr. Jaydeep Bhavsar has done his M.D.S. in 1993 and happens to be one of the original pioneers of Pediatric Dentistry in Mumbai and Maharashtra. He finished his M.D.S. with flying colors from Nair Hospital Dental College which is a premier college of dentistry in India (comparable to the top IVY League universities of USA). He was a teaching faculty at the same institute for more than 5 years after M.D.S. during which he coached and tutored many dental students and budding dentists. He was also examiner at other universities in Maharashtra, to help build careers of other aspiring dental students. Another of his landmark achievement has been a milestone research in dental care needs and management of physically / mentally challenged children, the research of which has been his thesis submitted to the Mumbai University.

Dr. Bhavsar has many scientific articles in connection with pediatric dentistry published in national and international journals. He has also won Best Paper Awards at national level, a remarkable feat not achieved by many. His write-ups have featured regularly in professional journals, health magazines, national newspapers like Times of India and regional newspapers like Janmabhoomi Pravasi, Mumbai Metro etc.
He is also honoured to have been inducted in the elite and exclusive Association of Medical Consultants (AMC), Mumbai. He remained an Affiliate member of the ADA (American Dental Association), IAPD (International Association of Pediatric Dentistry) as well as the BDHF (British Dental Health Foundation) for many years in the past
Dr. Bhavsar has been in practice since 1993. He has his own dental set up at Ghatkopar. He is also a Consultant Pediatric Dentist since 2001 at the highly reputed Lilavati Hospital (one of the leading hospitals of India). His emphasis and stress on dentistry aimed at children and adolescents stems from the fact that dental health in the society is as such neglected by and large and dental health of children, moreover, is accorded the least priority, which is a serious neglect. But now after more than 3 decades, Dr. Bhavsar has been able to put the confident smiles back onto the faces of scores of children, many of whom have by now grown into lively healthy adults. Dr. Bhavsar takes painstaking care and effort to liberally imbibe relevant inputs from the AAPD (Americal Academy of Pediatric Dentistry), SMA Nutrition United Kingdom, Sugar Association Inc. USA, & other informative resources as guidelines in his approach towards practicing Pediatric Dentistry & patients/parents education and awareness as will be evident in this website.
The basic tenets of Pediatric Dentistry are :
- Each and every child has a fundamental right to his / her total oral health and we as pediatric dentists have an obligation to fulfill this faith.
- The idea of dentistry for children is not only to get the required dental health restored in a child but also to instill a positive dental outlook and attitude.
- Since pediatric dentistry is a specialty involving both the parents and children, the parents automatically become a part of their children’s dental health program. It is imperative that the parents get well informed and aware so as to assist their children into positive behavior and inculcate proper oral health habits.
Moreover, pediatric dentistry involves interaction with pediatricians, psychologists and other concerned consultants. Dr. Bhavsar enjoys excellent rapport and direct personal interaction and association with many leading pediatricians of Mumbai.
